go see rent! it was a very good movie. i was kinda worried cause some plays don't transfer well to movies. this one did! so go see it!

fund raiser at work yesterday...dunk tank.
evil souless bitch who has sent morale in the toilet since she showed up about a year ago was there. i tried to do right, i throw all the balls, missed 5, hit once, but she didn't fall in, got mad, then watched as others knocked her ass in.
she came back at 230 to get in the tank again. someone gave me their tickets to dunk her....
my old supervisor and manager (no one can stand this woman mind u) were there and they were cheering me on, my manager told me she'd even hold my bag and for me to dunk her...

6 balls....

at 4 balls i gave up, walked up onto the platform and kicked the target.

i felt this great sense of elation... and everyone just stood there staring at me like OMG, i can't believe she just did that! but i got cheers and handshakes...from other managers. LOL! then the evil bitch started memorizing my face and evil eyeballing me.
and so i wonder.....was it the right thing to do?
remember the sign she had on her tank earlier "remember, i do performance awards" and then it hit me.
of course i fuckin did right! that cash bonus shit they gave out was handed to favorites and was in NO WAY done by performance! people who were almost fired got that award! and Suzi, with her quiet, stays to work and help out kinda way, got fucked.

so for all of us Officers (cause they're calling us that now, even though we're not armed) that was for u!!!!!!!!

those of us who suffered from Katrina already, we're good. just tree damage and lack of electricity. a bit of flooding.

Andrew was a catagory 5 and only just before hitting land. total devastation. my house fell apart while we sat inside it.
Katrina is a catagory 5 now and still has hours before it makes it to land. Louisiana is about 4-10 feet below sea level. they are expecting up to 20 feet of flooding. please don't listen to the assholes on the news!!! they're bullshitting saying it MIGHT change it's course. look at the map, see how big it is? all of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Georgia can fit inside that fucker. LEAVE!!!!
don't wait around hoping. hitchhike if u gotta. just get out. trust me on this. if nothing else...
if this keeps going...i think they might officially make a catagory 6. Andrew was for about an hour. so they don't count him... Goddess be with these people

i bought that lego star wars game the other day and let me tell u. it's addicting!!!!

i haven't even beaten it yet cause i keep going back to the beginning levels trying to get all the goodies. and it's amusing!

and i think best of all, no talking. which means bad acting can't take place. just funny little facial features.

i recommend it for those looking for something to pass the time with :o)

spent most of the day at the hospital.

Kylie's stabilized. her white cell count went from 3 to 9. the cardiologist checked her heart and said that there was no damage and that it was fine. and as for the swelling, it's gone down a bit. they can only do so much because she's not stable enough to be moved around and totally checked, but slowly things are starting to look up. i over heard the nurses talking and they said they'd never seen a baby that close to death, make this much of a recovery. that it defied all their textbook cases.
so the power of prayer really helped this little girl. i believe it. one of yesi's sisters from the church stopped by and they were talking and they tried to get me into all that and all i said was all i believe is that God exsists and loves everyone. and the lady turned to yesenia and said see? she believes, and doesn't feel like she needs to know god personally. and yesi was like yea i guess. and the lady said pointed to me and said "she's here. that's telling u all u need." later, when she left she gave me a hug and said "be there for her"
we all know how i am with churchy people. what with being gay is like a huge nono in the catholic church. but apparently these people know, or at least some of them do, and no one's said any shit about it. they appreciate me being there. shit, i've been there more than most of them. but then again, it is my weekend. and they all work...but still. it says something, u know? those of u sending good vibes, please keep doing it. it's helping :o)

towards the end of work today, yesi called me and told me her baby was in the hospital and she has bacterial menengitis (sp) i didn't know what exactly that was and no one at work could tell me until i hunted someone down who was in nursing school.

he said he was 90% sure it had something to do with the brain and that it was bad.

so i've been at the hospital since. the only working organs are her kidneys and her heart. she's tubed up all over and they keep pumping her with drugs. the first doctor told them it was hopeless and to just take her off the life support and pray for her to die quickly. in a highly religious cuban family, that was a major slap in the face they have been getting in touch with everyone they know and all sorts of people and now a good portion of greater miami is praying for her. yesi's mom went to some man and they had some kind of serious prayer session and again when they came back with more people they said the roseary. everything they could do. and everyone's spirits were up and they all seriously and with all their hearts believe she'll make a full recovery and be fine. i sat with yesi and JP in the icu and we tried joking about how she was gonna be huge and smart and totally get her way in everything she sets out to do and it helped them. another doctor came in and gave them hope, by stating it was too early to say she'll be dead within 2 days.
but it was still very serious. she could die. she could not wake up. she could wake up and be serverely brain damaged. or she could wake up and be fine.
they pumped antibiotics into her, killing the virus, but her body doesn't seem to be fighting off the after effects.
her white blood cell count is low, meaning her body isn't fighting the effects. her sugar count is low, which means her brain isn't getting what it needs to keep running properly, her brain is swollen, but since she's only 6 weeks, she still has that hole in her head, which is helping to relieve some pressure, and the worst, her protein levels are too high. he said they start to get serious at 300. Kylie's is over 800.

i make my own little karmic debts. and damnit i will pay high for this little girl to make a full and healthy recovery and live a long and healthy life. u could tell just by looking at her and interacting with her that she is a very smart and alert baby. she had her own little personality and looks, like an older baby would. it's what makes her unique. if she comes out brain damaged, all that would be gone. if she dies...well i don't want to think that way. i've been channeling good energy, the best i could into that little girl and her mother and i never knew the extent powerful prayer could have on a group of people.
i hope she gets better. and if there's something to this prayer thing, then please, everyone who cares, say a few.

been MIA for awhile. *insert huge grin here* but after finally catching up on a few entries i felt the need to say a few things.
